TV Show Overview: Joy of life (CDrama)
If you love political chess matches, razor-sharp dialogue, layered world-building, and a hero who survives on pure brainpower and wit, Joy of Life is your next obsession. This wildly popular C-drama blends historical intrigue, philosophical undertones, action, humor, and slow-burn strategy into a drama that feels both epic and surprisingly modern. It’s clever, unpredictable, and endlessly bingeable.
Guardians of Dafeng actually led me to Joy of Life. When I finished GoD I looked up shows to watch that were similar and JoL always popped up. To be honest, they are similar in the way of including time travel, a popular male lead who is able solve everything, wuxia, royal politics, ect; however, the vibes are completely different to me. I would say GoD is more of a “brighter”, mindless, pure-entertainment-without-thinking-too-much watch, vs JoL has a more philosophical, refined, poetic feel to it. Joy of Life is definitely worth your time!
Season 3 has been confirmed as the final season and set to premiere 2026/2027 timeframe!
