Self-Care: 50+ Simple Ideas To Create The Perfect Self-Care Routine

I find self-care to be a beautiful, invigorating, and satisfying thing. Self-care is essentially everything you do to deliberately take care of yourself, by taking care of your mind, body, and soul. Basically, it’s maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself and taking care of your well-being.

Self-care is anything that keeps you on track to staying healthy and promoting your own physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health.

Picture this: you’re juggling work deadlines, social commitments, and trying to maintain some semblance of a personal life—all while wondering when was the last time you took a moment to breathe. Sound familiar? Well, fear not, because this blog post is here to be your virtual BFF, your cheerleader, and your personal self-care guru rolled into one.

There is no one-for-all routine that is perfect for everybody. Your self-care routine and activities should specifically cater to you and your needs. Taking the time to implement self-care activities throughout the day will benefit your health and productivity.

Whether you’re craving a spa day, in dire need of a digital detox, or simply want to indulge in some guilty pleasure binge-watching and junk food, we’ve got you covered. So grab your favorite cozy blanket, brew yourself a cup of tea (or pour a glass of wine, I won’t judge), and let’s dive into the wonderful world of self-care!

SELF-CARE IS NOT SELFISH.

Some people feel guilty when they take time out to do a self-care activity. They may feel like they are encouraging laziness or procrastination, and that may very well be the case at times. However, if you are burned out and still trying to tackle things, that negatively impacts your health and productivity. Remember, self-care isn’t just a luxury reserved for rare moments of indulgence; it’s a vital practice that nourishes your mind, body, and soul, empowering you to show up as the badass, fabulous woman you are in every aspect of your life.

You guys have heard me say it before, and I will say it again….. BALANCE IS KEY.

Self-care allows you to be mindful of your own needs and lets you practice self-love. To keep things simple, just do something that brings you joy and/or that nurtures your mind and body in some way. So whether you’re treating yourself to a DIY spa day, embarking on a solo adventure, or simply reveling in the beauty of your own company, never forget that you are deserving of love, care, and all the good vibes in the universe.

Choosing a few self-care activities to do throughout your day in between work, school, or whatever you do day-to-day, along with a more extensive self-care day once a week or a few times a month is a good general routine to follow.

I definitely need to make this a priority. I have not made this a must-do on my list but I think it’s time I changed that.

There are so many great benefits to self-care so we all need to dedicate time to it each week. I like to get loads of hugs from my kids (glad you had that on the list) and also go to bed early when I get the chance.

I really like that you included a wide range of items in your self-care list, including catching up on things you are procrastinating on. It’s not all candles and yoga and that’s really important for people to realise 🙂
